Girona (Catalonia), 1968.
I've been interested in photography as a means of expression since my adolescence, perhaps because in my childhood I got to know it first hand thanks to my brothers, who set up a dark room in the family home garage. I bought my first camera in 1984 after a hard summer work selling ice cream at Costa Brava. And I have never stopped taking pictures. I studied a degree in Maths, and later around my thirties I decided to develop my self-taught formation in photography, carrying out multiple online and face-to-face courses and workshops. I started semi-professional path in architecture and interior photography in 2014 and at present I'm combining non-photographic teaching with my professional activity in architecture and interior photography and with the development of personal photographic projects.
STATEMENT
I love projects that are telling us a story, whether real or invented, but a story with a real narrative feeling in it. In this meaning I’m very interested in the close relationship between photography and text as two powerful means when telling stories or explaining our vision of the world, and how their potential is multiplied when using both of them.
I’m also looking into how the relationship between photography and memory-identity is changing in the current context with the massive use of the internet and social network.
I think photography (all art forms really) could be a powerful therapy tool; moreover, a means of personal transformation, and hence a means of social transformation by bringing up current issues of our times.
Through the photographic act itself, either mental and reposed as in the architecture photography or more intuitive and visceral, I’m looking for the immersion and full concentration right at that moment.
